Jacob Paul's Baby Dedication Cake

This weekend I had the privilege of creating my first dedication/baptism cake for Paul and Heather Calvin's son Jacob Paul. In this case its a baby dedication cake because technically he was not baptized this Father's Day weekend. Our church, Seacoast Community Church does not do baby baptisms because our church believes that baptism is an act of faith on behalf of a believer who has maturely made the decision to become a follower of Christ. Instead, we do baby dedications, a time when parents will bring their new child in front of the congregation and dedicate their baby to God.

The Calvin's chose a life verse for their son from the Book of Joshua which I wrote on the cake. The verse is from Joshua 1:9 which says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Such encouraging words for one to follow throughout his life. The cake is a white cake with buttercream frosting and dark chocolate and strawberry filling.
