Birds, Butterflies, and a Birthday Party

This weekend I had the pleasure of creating some delightful nature-inspired cupcakes for little Kaz's 6th birthday. The cupcakes were doubly chocolate with vanilla cream frosting, and the critters were made from gumpaste and hand painted with gel coloring. Edible, yummy tasting gumpaste and fondant is absolutely necessary when making cupcakes for kids because they eat everything! These fun little treats went well with a day filled with art, nature, and celebration.

CONGRATS baby girl! You keep wowing us with your creative imagination and artful skills. Between the two of us, we have two anniversaries and one birthday this month. Can't wait to see what's in the oven but DO NOT mail us a cake or any cupcakes ... or the trees that come with the cupcakes. Send pictures. Nuff. Me ke aloha pumehana.
